Bollee Patino
Artist Bio
Bollee Patino is a contemporary visual artist whose work bridges street-informed expression and studio-based abstraction. Drawing from urban environments, lived experience, and material exploration, Patino creates layered works that emphasize texture, presence, and emotional resonance.
Working primarily in mixed media, Patino’s practice is grounded in process. Surfaces are built, disrupted, and reworked over time, allowing each piece to develop its own visual language. Bold color, expressive mark-making, and figurative elements often coexist with abstraction, creating compositions that reward close and sustained viewing.
Recurring themes in Patino’s work include identity, resilience, and social tension. Figures—when present—operate less as literal portraits and more as symbols, reflecting individuals who exist at the edges of convention: those navigating visibility, belonging, and self-definition. The work invites viewers to consider not only what is seen, but what is felt beneath the surface.
While influenced by street culture and its immediacy, Patino’s work is intentionally refined within the studio, translating raw visual language into considered, collectible forms. This balance allows the work to exist fluidly across contexts, from private collections to gallery settings.
At its core, Patino’s practice is rooted in connection—using art as a means to spark reflection, conversation, and shared human experience. Each work stands as a singular moment within an evolving body of work, shaped by material curiosity and an ongoing dialogue between environment and self.
